Jodeci Will Perform At This Years Soul Train Awards

Jodeci will be performing at the upcoming Soul Train Awards. They will be performing a medley of their hits as well as a brand new single produced by Timberland. The show will be taping on November 7.

This will be the first time that all four members have appeared on stage together since 2006.

Here’s what the group had to say:

“Soul Train was a critical platform in the beginning of our career, so it only makes sense that our return to the stage be during Soul Train Awards 2014.

We’re humbled by the loyalty of our fans who have asked for a reunion and look forward to giving them a show as only Jodeci can.”

    • Timbaland, along with Missy, Ginuwine, Tweet, and the R&B group Playa (Which includes the late Static Major) got their start with DeVante Swing’s ‘Swing Mob’ collective, where they all wrote, sang and/or rapped on their own as well as Jodeci’s material. Also, Timbaland produced a song for K-Ci & Jojo years ago, as well, so it’s nothing new.

          • ^And yeah, Static would’ve been around for a long time, and even more successful than he was songwriting those hits for Aaliyah and some others–Hell, he gave that Gremlin the hook to his hit song ‘Lollipop,’ so you knew Static was on his way, the same thing people were saying about Aaliyah.               lol I see! I had no idea Aaliyah had left Blackground, or that Hankerson had leaked the other tape(s). As for Amil, I learned about and have been listening to ‘Quarrels’ for years now. She was speaking some real.shit. on there, and was bolder than most male rappers in doing so, considering the fact that the song was on her one major label album. You’d be hard pressed to find any mainstream rapper in today’s super-fake, bullshit Industry who’d put a song like that on their label-sanctioned album. Also, I don’t know if you’re aware, but Amil also released a song earlier this year, apparently in an attempt to make a comeback. It didn’t go over very well, though, considering the Industry blow-up-doll–My bad, I mean ‘female rapper’ of the moment is Nicki Minaj, who is an embodiment of everything Amil rapped about in ‘Quarrels.’

    • Or seeing Mr. Dalvin dive off stage, K-Ci take his shirt off and ride the bodyguard like a horsey and Jojo sound like JJ Fish. Treated my mom to a show a while ago and she cried in the car afterwards.

        • It was horrible since my mom is stoic and rarely shows emotion. Years ago on a separate occasion had a chance to see them(kci and jojo) during a local radio interview where a friend interned at. Afterwards they asked for compensation for a 10 second station plug. Yanno how celebrities(used to) do the “This is John Doe and when im chilling in East Bumphuck, USA i listen to Hot 123.4” and then sing a riff or something? Yeah they wanted money for that and at some odd crackhead amount.

          Kci has also smoked his top front teeth away. He must had implants or partials when they did the reality show.

  10. Lord…please let them keep it together enough to do a decent show. Jodeci was one of the Best R&B Groups of the 90’s. Can’t blame the Industry for all of their problems. KCi & JoJo said they had been alcoholics since they were 13 & 14yrs old. That was something in their past that was already in them. I think Devante got in with some of the wrong people and started doing drugs cause he has been in a bad state for years now.

  12. I seen K-Ci and Petey Pablo together at the TGI Fridays on North Tryon (Charlotte) a few yrs ago.

    They were counting change (coins) from the waitress like it was their last. Recession done hit everyone we guessed.

    K-Ci looked wasted away. Could see his skull through his bald head.

    Place was packed with all types of hoes and gold diggers.. wasnt CIAA wknd, but somethIng was In town… They left alone together, although their ppl tried to pick up girls.

        • Went in the wrong way and ended up at a gate that had a statue. Finally got in the airport I was on top. Went back to get them, did the same thing again and ended up at the bottom of the airport. Mannnnnnnn…Charlotte gots to do better!

Yes its a maze, my cousin and I were running from one end of that airport to.the other like OJ Simpson in that old Hertz commercial and not to mention the employees weren’t very helpful. I couldn’t figure out if I was mad that Mary was running behind this hyena or sad that he publicly embarrassed her.   21. I love, love, love me some Jodeci and I hope they bring their A game. The only problem for me is them coming back. The music industry has basically killed RNB and I don’t want them to go pop. Theyre straight up RNB and this develish industry will try to make them change their style. No Jodeci don’t change! Now if they can resarect RNB that would be cool.   23. All the singers and groups from the 90s and early 00s need to come out of hibernation once and for all. Magic Johnson is moving the show in the right direction. Love that he took it to Vegas, hopefully, it stays there for the foreseeable future. Jodeci made a major impact on the culture, they deserve props for that.
