Mel B’s longtime makeup artist says he’s been in on Mel B’s secret for years … because she’s confided in him that Stephen Belafonte caused many of her injuries he covered up with makeup.

The makeup artist has contacted Mel B’s lawyers and offered to write a sworn declaration detailing what he’s seen and heard over many years.

He says he frequently had to cover up Mel B’s facial and body bruises. He says she would confide in him but lie to others on set about the injuries. And, he says, Belafonte knew Mel B talked to the makeup artist, and he says he was threatened numerous times.

The makeup artist says Belafonte would withhold money from him unless he followed orders … don’t say a word about the injuries.

The makeup artist also says he heard Belafonte being “aggressive and verbally abusive” to Mel B and the children, sometimes calling his wife “disgusting and ugly.”

He also says Belafonte was extremely controlling, ordering security to keep tabs on Mel B “beyond a level of safety.”

Belafonte has denied any physical abuse.

In all of the coverage of the back-and-forth, one voice hasn’t been heard at all: Maryam’s. COMPLEX.com called her up to get her take on the situation.

How did you feel when you saw his response?
Honestly, I laughed. And then I went around and I showed my co-workers. People think that I’m angry about it or I’m depressed or I’m crying or I’m going to delete my Twitter, and I’m really not.
Honestly, I think I made him poppin’. Because if you look at his Twitter, he has like 200-300 retweets [per tweet], and then he quoted me [and got 25,000 retweets]. So I basically put him in this position to have fame again, because he was not relevant until he quoted me. No one was talking about him. He was not trending on anything. And it just happens he quoted me, and there’s two songs after [French released “No Pressure” and “Unforgettable” hours after the incident with Barksdale]. So it’s just weird.
What were your mentions looking like after it happened?
I got more love from my black women than anyone else—especially not from black men. I got more hate from black men than I got from anyone else. There are videos of [them talking about] me on YouTube, defending [French] from one little comment.

The whole “nappy-headed” thing, and black men defending that, knowing that that term was used during the time when black people were discriminated against, getting lynched. White supremacists [saying] “nappy-headed ho,” I see that all the time. And so for black men to be defending that and saying, ‘Oh, it’s not racist, it’s not an insult,’ it doesn’t really make sense.

What did you think when you started seeing people starting to clap back at French? What were you feeling?
I felt happy. Trust me, I saw hate but…I just felt happy about it. I can’t really explain more about it. I rejoiced. And it wasn’t specifically just black women. It was all women.

What about when the media coverage started happening? Was that surreal?

I mean, yeah. That was crazy. But I was kind of irritated that they didn’t ask for my name, and they keep referring to me as “a black woman.” It was crazy because I’d had a lot of my co-workers messaging me. I even posted before it was on the internet [in articles]. I screenshotted it, and then I posted it on my Instagram and on my Facebook. And then after that, I saw links. A lot of magazines—you guys, BET, even E! News covered it. But they didn’t say my name.

What do you think about French? Do you think that he’s personally racist or sexist?

Um, yeah. I think a lot of men in the industry are. He definitely would not have said that I was “nappy” if I was any other race, and everyone knows that. I think a lot of the men in the industry are definitely misogynistic, and something needs to change.

Would you think twice now about talking shit about a celebrity on Twitter?

No, because everyone does it. It’s just my specific tweet. I’m in Stockton, California, the littlest town in California. So for my little tweet to blow up like that, it was surreal. I’m going to express my opinions about anyone. If you’re a celebrity, then you need to handle criticism. And if you can’t handle criticism, then you need to get out of the industry.

I’ve noticed that a lot of these celebrities, they retweet negative things about them and they retweet hate. They never retweet the love. Out of all those opinions, you just had to retweet mine? I’m not going to stop just because he retweeted me. I’m not going to delete my Twitter, like I said. I’m not pressed about it. As much as people want me to care, I don’t.

Phaedra Parks is said to be the third person fired from Real Housewives Of Atlanta. Reportedly the mother of two was FIRED from the Bravo hit reality series.

According to blogger Love B Scott, the Real Housewife’s contract was not renewed — because of an explosive lie she fabricated that created a mountain of drama this season. A source tells the site.

“Everyone was given their renewal papers last week and Phaedra didn’t get hers. She got caught in so many treacherous lies this season that even the producers (including Andy Cohen) have had enough. She even brought ‘fake’ divorce papers to the reunion to prove a point. No one knows whether she’s telling the truth about anything anymore.”

Here’s what happened…

Apparently, Phaedra was the one that fed Porsha Williams the lesbian/rape lie about Kandi Burruss to repeat — then claimed RHOA producer Carlos King was responsible. But allegedly it was all a lie that the ATL attorney assembled to slander Kandi‘s brand.

A rep for Phaedra Parks is denying that the reality star has been fired from Real Housewives of Atlanta.

During this season of RHOA — Kandi confronted Porsha in Hawaii over accusations that the Grammy songwriter wanted to drug and rape Porsha. Kandi was so angry, she wanted to choke Porsha for starting those rumors. Ironically, Kandi claims that Porsha is the one who sexually propositioned her and produced texts to prove it.

As reported, Cynthia Bailey will be returning as a full-time Housewife, as well as NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak but only as part-time cast members.

On the Season 3 finale, the artists prepare for their final performance. Later, JD makes his decision and awards one young rapper the So So Def chain and a recording contract with the label.

Bobby Shmurda has just been sentenced to 4 years in prison for having a shank, but the good news for him … it doesn’t mean extra time behind bars.

The rapper — who is already serving 7 years for his murder conspiracy conviction — appeared in court with attorney Paul London Friday and pled guilty to the crime of attempted promoting prison contraband.

The new sentence runs concurrently … meaning it won’t be tacked on to his 7 year sentence.

Bobby’s been in jail since December 2014, so he’s already taken a chunk out of his sentence.

Toya Wright’s ex-husband, Mickey “MempHitz” Wright, has been offered a plea deal for armed robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after accusing a car was attendant of stealing weed from his car back in 2015.

Under the deal, Memphitz would serve 10 years in prison and 15 years probation in exchange for pleading guilty to all charges, including being a felon in possession of a firearm.

If he decides to go to trial instead and is found guilty, he’s looking at 20 years maximum behind bars for the robbery charge alone.

According to sources, Janet Jackson has split from her third husband, Wissam Al Mana, just months after giving birth to their child.

“Sadly, Janet and Wissam have decided that it wasn’t working and to go their separate ways.They’re both busy people but determined to be good parents, even if they’re apart. It’s amicable and Eissa will stay with his mother, who is basing herself in London.”

A divorce settlement will be costly for Wissam who is worth almost a billion dollars.

Tyrese is giving more info about his life with his “black queen,” Samantha Lee.

In an interview with an NYC radio station, Tyrese explains why he and his new wife waited 60 days to get busy.

“I’ll tell you proudly, we got active and it was so much magic. We decided to go 60 days without. We decided to become born-again virgins. We’re both Christians. We went from December 14 to February 14. It was hard—I mean, challenging!”

Dwyane Wade is fighting back after his ex-wife decided to contest her $5.125 million divorce settlement.

Siohvaughn Funches is asking a judge to find that her lawyer tricked her into signing the original deal back in 2013.

rAccording to sources, Dwyane and his lawyers are fighting back by saying if Siohvaughn wasn’t happy with the settlement, she shouldn’t have spent the money!

“Court papers filed this week say Funches gave up her right to complain when she gave away an $80,000 BMW and two homes she received in the 2013 settlement.”
