During an episode of Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Red Table Talk, the actress, her mom, Adrienne Banfield, and her daughter, Willow, sat down to discuss body insecurities.

During the roundtable discussion, they spoke about how Will told Willow he was happy she didn’t have a curvy body, that way she wouldn’t have to worry about being objectified by men.

Willow also opened up about how social media sometimes makes her feel jealous of curvier women.

“I, in my own life struggled with, curvier women and curvier girls have always gotten more attention from the boys that I’ve liked and have ended up dating the boys that I’ve liked…That constantly happening and me you know being their friend but not really seeing them look at me in a certain way…then you start to wonder, ‘Dang am I just not desirable? Is my body just not what society likes?’ So it does just get really hard for a lot of girls.”

  1. Sadly I see what he is saying. When I was a teenage I was curvy and older guys would look at me and it made me feel very self conscious to the point that I wish I was smaller so I didn’t get that unwanted attention. But at the same time willow is a beautiful girl so guys are going to look at her regardless

  2. It does not matter what you look like there are grimy people who will objectify anyone, hell anything particularly now that damn near everything is legal.

    • Not necessarily…

Look at her parents. Her mom never had a figure or curves and really neither does her grandmother just muscle plus a bit of bulk from age and her dad is a bean pole.

      • So we could agree that she might get her slender frame because of genetics, not because “ her parents fed her low carbs to keep her thin”. Right?

  3. This child and all her generation are lost.. They have nothing to occupy their minds with and they have no responsibility.. I was the young lady at 12yrs old, I had the body of a woman and it was sickening.. Thanks goodness I had older brothers and a father that let me know I had no control over what God gave me.. I wore oversized clothes regularly and never wore certain things,, It would bring unwanted attention to myself. She will be just fine we are not all made alike or look alike.
She’s an attractive young lady and she has a long time to fill out and if she doesn’t, love the body you have…

    • Your story sounds exactly like mine. I literally had dd’s in elementary and my fifth grade teacher actually made a comment about it. From then I hated my body and wore huge clothes. I’m 38 and I still don’t like too tight or barely there clothes which has always been cool with my dad brothers and uncles and now my sons. I dress sexy but casually sometimes and people are always surprised and tell me I should show my body all the time. No thanks. Willow is a pretty young girl naturally. And she should be very proud of that.

      • I know the feeling all too well. My husband don’t like when I wear v neck or certain clothing.. I let him know I’m a grown ass woman and I don’t wear anything that make my 40DD the center of attention.. Heck he knew decades ago how top heavy I was, I just learn how to dress appropriately.. I never ever wore tube tops, halter top, turtle neck or tight shirts… Sometimes it feels like a curse, but this is the real world and I really do love myself.. It’s just sometimes I just want to wear something cooling in the hot summer months.. I’m a bit older than you, but I’m very happy I was told at a young age to love the body you have.. I didn’t make myself and I was made according to the image that God created.. Be blessed and always keep your head up and back straight..LOL

  4. So long as she has a vagina she will face the same challenges. Curvy flat all the same.

  5. What about all the skinny string bean women that Harvey Weinstein and other predators went after. That not being curvy don’t mean shit. Predators don’t discriminate.

  6. I see 3 very beautiful women and Willow is really coming into her own.
Its so funny when I look at her and see Will’s facial features morphing through Jada’s to create a look that simular to them but uniquely hers.

Dispite all the controversy with these celebrities, I have it to give them because they some beautiful children.

  7. It strange how in america only black americans are allowed to act crass and rude without penalty…dudes calling us Africans monkeys but when white people do the same they get fired.
