Queen Latifah has revealed that she lost her mom to a heart condition.
Rita Owens passed away on Wednesday, and the actress and singer said:
“She had struggled with a heart condition for many years and her battle is now over.”
Her mom had been taking meds and was using a defibrillator implanted in her chest to avert a heart attack.

Thanks for pointing this out Chris. I didn’t want to believe it, but what I found odd is 1 of the black networks was going to air the episode of Living Single w/ Ms. Rita the day after her death. Thing is, I saw it was already slated to air before she passed. Also noticed another network aired Set It Off the day she passed. Normally I’d be like, these are just weird coincidences, but I feel predictive programming is real.
