Mos Def Banned From America!?!?!

Mos Def Banned from USA?

Shocking word is pointing to Brooklyn native, Mos Def/Yasiin Bey, as a man facing “immigration/legal issues” that have reportedly “stopped [him] from reentering the United States”. It’s a situation said to lead the lyricist — whose real name is Dante Terrell Smith — to cancel his upcoming U.S. tour.

That’s according to representatives at the Boston music festival, “Together Boston”. This news comes a little more than a year after Mos Def relocated to Cape Town, South Africa.

“For a guy like me, who had five or six generations not just in America but in one town in America to leave America, things gotta be not so good with America.”

Together Boston reports:

We regret to inform you that due to immigration / legal issues Yasiin Bey is unable to enter back into the United States and his upcoming U.S. tour has been canceled, including May 15th, Together Boston’s show at The Wilbur Theatre. Individual ticket refunds for this show are available at point of sale.”

  1. There’s a difference between being banned(which wouldn’t be legal – they’d allow him back on US soil and then arrest him) and not wanting to come back because you owe child support and don’t want to get arrested.

    • Yanno I thought the same thing, like rapper Loon, with his conversion to Islam and traveling to Algeria but was arrested in Belgium for heroine traficking in North Carolina. South Africa has an extradition treaty with the States so technically they have to send Mos Def back if warranted. Unlike Hong Kong(China) with Snowden which had treaty when under control by Great Britain but no longer. Negros better know where to run like hedge fund strategists, war criminals and pedophiles.

It could be his affiliations. Hes outspoken and his ties to Islam and Moors may be frowned upon as with the case of Communists in the McCarthy Era perhaps dual citizenship with a conflicting country.

      • He has alot of influence being that he is a respected rapper, so his comments on 911 could be viewed as an act of treason. I agree with your post, it was a good read.

  2. Just asking …isn’t he gay and used to be part of Leo DiCaprio’s man posse otherwise I don’t care about this dude

    • m os def was wearing a dress one time don’t understand this wearing dresses and thinking you ain’t gay.

      • CRAZYCHRIS YOU NOT GONNA GO IN ABOUT HOW HE’S A MOOR NOW AND CHANGED HIM NAME TO YAASIN “BEY” AND THATS WHY THEY MESSING WITH HIM? THATS ALL YOU GOT IS HE GAY HE WORE A DRESS? MOS DEF GOT 30 KIDS AND PLENTY OF EX’S. I KNOW THAT DONT MATTER BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

      • Just imagine if your woman whispered “lift up your skirt, bae” before a quickie. Seems backward.

  3. I don’t know what he used to do but I know he is now practicing Islam and homosexuality is forbidden.

  4. He’s banned for political reasons. The brotha ain’t a homosexual as some of you fags would wish he were.

  5. He still had the best line on Monsters ball. ” next time you want to play cowboy, I’m over here all the time”

  6. Mos Def is a citizen of the US, yet, can’t get back home to perform…Fishy? If he was an illegal-immigtant, he would be allowed in with open arms…Obama’s World! The Muslim ish is so cliche, what does it accomplish. I see it as phony, meanwhile, black folk gettin’ blown up in the name of Allah in Africa. No disrespect, but negros gotta feel it in their chest. Playing games with our people just for image sake, get out my face with that.

    • If he was an illegal-immigtant, he would be allowed in with open arms
      ^^^^^^^^^^
THE TRUTH THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE DAMN TRUTH… Jose, Pepe, Luis and them can come and go anytime they please, (with new names and social security numbers to boot) and MOS DEF with his American Born ass, can’t come and do a show…. Political beliefs be damned. This is a democracy, he can say what he wants to say.

      • @Anonymous

I bumped to Mos Def back in the day, i respect his music. Him moving to Africa is a good thing, the US is going down real fast. The Muslim ish, blackmen need not be under the boot of another man…Bottomline!

      • Ain’t it the truth! Illegals get all kinds of vouchers too when they get here. Darned goverment..

  7. Only one other brother in rap who had the balls to say all that shit he said on bill maher is tupac shakur. I salute mos def for having the courage to speak the truth on the bill maher show. If you don’t belive him that’s your opinion its a shame no other artist living has the balls to stand up for all people. Scarface spoke on brainwashing our kids sexuality but mos def was to much for white america to handle straight up truth serum….

    • I wish more brothas would stand up and tell the truth and speak their minds even of it does mean that they will go broke and never get work again. That’s the way to get the message out. That’s real courage. He can do a lot of good for blacks here when he’s over in South Africa because they will let you speak your mind and tell the truth about 911.

  8. white men are threaten by well educated out spoken intelligent black man just like malcom x and dr martin king maybe that’s why they ain’t around anymore

they want black men to be dumb

    • EXACTLY! These white boys and slave ass coons unequivocally loathe to see a brotha speaking out against the white man’s system. They’ll kill you for that shit too. I love a down ass brotha like Mos Def. He is better off away from this crazy ass country anyway. Why South Africa though? Maybe his DNA is from there, dunno.

      • Yes. Things are much better in SA than they are here. It’s a great place to live and the crime rate is very low. He’ll do well in there. They don’t put up with no gay foolishness in Capetown.

        • white men rather see a black man with a basket ball in their hands or a weapon not a book

  9. Mos is a dope rapper who ironically hasn’t been rapping much lately, similar to that Charmin-soft Canadian people are so crazy about.

    • Sit back and reflect without bias and you’ll see how PUNKAFIED we are globally. Straight bitches!!! Wanna be’s, etc….

      • Yeah, I’ve been ‘reflecting’ on that for a while, now–Male rappers wearing skirts was the biggest red flag in a while, especially since ‘The Boondocks’ called it 6 years ago. But anyway, my point is that Mos is too good a rapper to be singing all the time, whether that’s his choice or not.

    • He is also a great actor. I have so much respect for Mos Def.

But this is scary, it is like an attack on the Black Inteligentsia. First the Assata Shakur bounty, now Mos Def.

        • No offense, but why would ‘they’ be after Cornel West? Did he not have, and probably still has, a cushy job at at least one Ivy League school for years (Possibly decades) now? Similar situation for Tyson–Both are very visible professionals.

  10. Real rappers respect most def. he isn’t afraid to stand up for what he believes in and doesn’t care who hears him. He got flow and originality. A rappers rapper.

  11. What did Mos Def do to the US govt.? Justin Beiber gets to act a fool and gets a pass. Something is wrong here. The hip hop community needs to stand up.

  12. they want songs about drugs, degrading black women, cars, rims, money, and pretemnding you like women.

none of these rap dudes ever expressed love for another female other than their mother.

  13. Kudos to Mos Def for keeping it 100! It takes guts for a celebrity to speak truth, cut ties from ‘Hollyweird’ and become a sovereign citizen. Now, he is being used as an example as a scare tactic, to prevent others from breaking their chains and becoming a sovereign citizen of this planet. If we could stop feeding the system, it would die! Thanks Yasiin Bey, the Moorish Science Temple and other organizations sharing the information needed to free ourselves from modern day slavery!

  14. If you stand in front of a judge and tell them you have no jurisdiction over me cuz your system is a fraud and I can prove it, it doesn’t matter if your black or white, your gunna need gods help.

  15. I jus can’t with Kanye and his ego. This man is a true definition of a “queen”!!

  16. The Kente fabric may be Ghanaian but the wrap is worn in many parts of Africa…either around the waist the way Mos wore it or knotted over one shoulder (in the Bantu way). It’s not very common in cities and urban centres but in rural parts it is a common sight. Worn with a shirt it’s the traditional attire of the Efiks/Ibibios of W. Africa, for example. Next thing, y’all will be calling the Arab ‘Jallabiya’ a frock. The gay agenda is real and appalling but we need to be more open-minded about other cultures. Not EVERYTHING is gay

  17. I dont believe that shit. That nigga did what every caribbean man does when faced with child support…. fled the country

  18. Ha!!!!! He talked crap about the USA when he was out here in Japan, saying how bad we are and how slow we are and how much better Japan was than USA well I live out here an I know for a fact that they treated him well because his was performing here at the time duh, plus I live out here over 10plus years they don’t treat black Men any different from most white ppl in America they give you a bit more respect but that’s only out of fear because where bigger physically that’s it that’s the first thing they care about ! Soooo he needs too pay and chooses to run and hide in Cape Town really that place is filled with an I know from experience because I love to travel so I’m not just talking shit but that place his with crystal meth and Special K soo… Why would any body with half a mind bounce and hide out there….?
