Gina Torres Confirms Split from Laurence Fishburne

gina torres laurence fishburne split

Earlier this week, Gina Torres was spotted kissing a mystery man while out on a lunch date. And now, the actress has confirmed that she and her husband, Laurence Fishburne, have split.

“With heavy hearts, Laurence and I quietly separated and began the dissolution of our marriage in the early fall of last year. There are no bad guys here. Only a love story with a different ending than either one of us had expected. Happily, however, our family remains intact and we will continue to raise our daughter together with love and joy and awe. As well as raise each other up with respect and love and the continued understanding that we’re in this together, if not side by side.” – Gina Torres

The couple got married in 2002. They share one child together.

  1. She’s down with the swirl. Good for her. Black men exploit any and every opportunity to date out so I think black females should be able to do so too.

  2. Very classy press release. Apparently, she found something in the new guy, that was missing in her relationship with Fishburne. Wish her the best.

  3. No discretion at all… no ink to the divorce and she looks like she gets around…. looking like she will never be satisfied… maybe she was cheating…?

    • I had my suspicions with the line: “… Only a love story with a different ending than either one of us had expected.” I doubt LF sees it that way.

Pork in all its forms (especially ‘white’ folk) is the worse thing to ever happen to so called black people.

  4. Some black women in Europe have no problems dating out. I live in the most cosmopolitan city in the world and everyday I see more and more black females dating non black men. I see black women of the deepest hues with non black partners.

I am starting to see more mixed raced babies born to black females also. But, happily, I am also now just noticing that black love among the under 30’s is also on the rise.

Some black men convince themselves that no one wants a black woman because they are scared to lose the ‘control’ that they ‘think’ they have over us. Wake black men, the ‘natural hair movement’ has got white men looking at us more closely …

    • Wake *up black men.

Just read the comments from them in the comment section on yt when some naturally big lipped, smooth chocolate skinned sistah has just shown us her long hair silk press technique. They love it ha ha.

      • ok, so you are a champion for the swirl… who cares… go date a white guy and take that slave mentality with you… one less you will not be a big loss for the community

        • It is important that black women know they have options. Black men in the media more often than not hate on them and degrade them. Kodac Whack is just one pitiful example. Date out if you feel that you can; don’t wait for a scarce decent black man.

  5. If black women wanna date whites cool nothing new interracial dating been here for centuries its not gonna stop my only issue is not putting me down while doing it I slept with white girls for sex only I prefer black women I know racial issues too well even though whites may appear to live blacks I’m still aware of white supremacy and I know the tactics of dividing black men and women up and I still see black men and black women are each others throats

  6. Not knocking, just saying. It is rare for black females who are IR to knock black men.

Black men have become lazy and complacent. They have taken us for granted for too long. I was just making the point that now they have some early competition from the race of men that have all the power. It is going to be an interesting future for black women I think.

    • Ummm, don’t most male and female celebs jump from dick to dick, and pussy to pussy?
