Columbus Short Blames It All On Drugs & Alcohol!

Junkie Columbus Short

If Columbus Short had his way, he’d be back acting on Scandal.

During a recent interview with Access Hollywood, the actor revealed he was “doing cocaine and drinking … and trying to balance a 16-hour a day work schedule” … using those bad choices as excuses for the SCANDALOUS behavior that landed him in the hot seat … and off the set.

“I would love nothing more to get back to Scandal. It’s my family.”

Here’s what Columbus Short had to say:

“I’ll be candid, I was struggling with drugs. I had a lot on my plate, and you know, I was unhealthy ways to kind of self–medicate and deal with a lot of heavy duty stuff in my life. I was doing cocaine and drinking a lot, and trying to balance a 16 hour work schedule a day, and a family,

I just lost myself back then. And if we’re going to be fully transparent, they protected me and they held me down. And that was one of the real reasons they just wanted me to get my stuff together. Sometimes the bottom has to be dropped out for you to really get it.

So I moved to Atlanta. I’ve been living there for the last five months, and it’s just been great. It’s been life changing. I’m ready to get back to work. As far as Shonda’s shows, I would love nothing more to get back to Scandal. It’s my family.”

  1. I miss is character in the show, he was very good at what he did..
    Get it together ..

  2. Wow cocaine and alcohol and he gets custody of his daughter without attending rehab and counseling. That was a big mistake on the judge’s part.

  3. I miss him on Scandal more than I thought I would. I wonder if Shondra still has the door even cracked a little for him to possibly return? I believe him re: the coke and booze. The shooting schedule for a one hour weekly drama is brutal. So a lot of people use coke to keep going and then alcohol to even out after too much blow. I hope he gets a second chance somewhere if not on Scandal.

    • I hope he gets a second chance too, Charlie Sheen, Robert downey Jr., Paris Hilton, Lindsey Logan……and the white list goes on and on, now let a brotha get a second chance to straighten out his life.

  4. Its wasnt the drugs but your dumb ass decisions, lack of self discipline and over indulgence. Like a fat person blaming Krispy Kreme. There are plenty of functional drunks and cocaine users that maintain employment and their families. Weekend warriors. Must be a LA thing where people cant control the substance.

    • Are you serious or just stupid? Drugs and alcohol is a real disease. These people cannot control it once they cross that line. The disease controls them!!

      • I make no excuses for weak minded people and their self induced problems. I empathize with refugees of war and sex slaves though. Most Americans do not have real problems. This nword has the money, medicals insurance, and connections for the best treatments. Take holistic wellness tour in a remote country with no electronics and detox on handpicked organic fruit. Go zip lining in the jungle instead of doing lines and realign your ass with Nature and Creation. He probably had one of those grandmas who blamed the Devil on everything. If more nwords died the world would be 90% better. Just pray that his kid doesnt develop his coping mechanisms. I dont drink because its toxic, the liver can only metabolize 0.5-1oz of alcohol per hour(for dumbasses who thrive on bottle service tables every weekend), I have a bad temper, my job is dependent upon a clean criminal and financial record, and like to have control of myself at all times plus. Ive observed the destruction its done, even some of my relatives who lacked self accountability. I guess a fat person cant control doing a U turn when the Krispy Kreme red hot light flashes.

  5. this Nicca won’t return because Nicca’s don’t get 2nd chances, only white people do which is f*cked up white people get special treatment because their white

as Shondra’s a black women She might let Him come back

  6. See he finally got a good PR person. He’s now going to ride the rehab, bad-boy-gone-good, and heart felt apology road back to a job (maybe). He should have said all of that a long time ago and maybe he’d still have a job. And just stop being an asshole Columbus.
