Mariah Carey Quits Social Media

Mariah Carey is still reeling from her disastrous New Year’s Eve performance.

After firing her longtime choreographer and blaming her for not having “support” when her ear piece failed her, the diva has decided to take a break from social media following all the backlash.

In an audio recording, Mariah is pointing fingers at Dick Clark Productions and says their technical issues caused her performance mishap.

“It’s a shame that we were put into the hands of a production team with technical issues, who chose to capitalize on circumstances beyond our control. It’s not practical for a singer to sing live and be able to hear themselves properly, in the middle of Times Square, with all the noise, the freezing cold, the smoke from the smoke machines, thousands of people celebrating. Especially when their ear monitors were not working at all.” – Mariah Carey

Mariah says she’s been humiliated by the incident, so she’s pulling back from social media to focus on her contractual performance obligations and her upcoming tour in March.

Do you think MiMi’s blowing things out of proportion?

  1. Her sound /audio was not working and she fires her CHOREOGRAPHER….but that is how mariah carey thinks… smh..

      • Even though I feel kinda sorry for her, she’s making it worse. If it’s DCP’s fault, why is she firing folks on her team? And the choreographer at that. Makes no sense. She keep her team the same (since it apparently wasn’t their fault), should stay on social media, continue performing (knock it out the park) and act like this didn’t even happen. People forget these things pretty fast. Countdown to the next viral hot mess.

    • Makes NO sense. She should quit SINGING! This was her second f-up live. The first was last Christmas when she left the tech crew waiting in the cold for hours and they released her REAL voice. Chile bye.

  2. Mariah is a pig in a blanket. She can’t sing or dance. Why she have to fire the gay black man? He was entertaining on her horrible reality show.

  3. I hate when stars keep trying to get attention after their shine fades (getting older). Is she broke???
Why embarrass yourself for attention! smh

  4. She got to get that voice and body back on track for those contractual obligations aka money cause her value just went down. She’ll be lucky to get a venue at a supper club after this!

    • Naw, Mariah’s days in tinsel town are over. She’s likely going to be the next celebrity sacrificial lamb, not as in a blood sacrifice; but in the a Brittany Spears style take down. Ive heard from a few sources that this year, there will be more celebrity deaths, around the “collection” seasons, and that their killing off, and taking down all of these legends to make way for the new celebrities they plan to bring in.

  5. What she needs to do is fire her damn manager that’s the big problem Tommy Matola basically called her manager out what he wrote that article for the newspaper recently

    • I agree with you. I heard she hired the manager, because she’s too afraid of conflict. So just imagine, she fired the choreographer because what she really wanted to do was fire her manager. But Mariah’s too afraid of facing conflict with her.

    • If he was the devil then why did he come to her defense in the newspaper article he wrote?? And yeah I know what Michael Jackson said about him but remember Michael Jackson was in the order too Michael Jackson took the same oath they all did.

  6. When Whitney went back to Clive it was the beginning g if the end for her it was like clve got his bigg ESS t moneymaker back she was better off with bobby than him and ray j

If mariah ends back with tommy she’s through

  7. Yep, as I predicted, this would be her year to fall. Mariah will be the illuminati sacrificial lamb to fall. She’s no longer a “diva” by indusry standards, and she’s way past her prime. She’s going to be set up to be replaced. and this year is likely going to be the year.

  8. Mariah is telling the truth to a certain degree but she didn’t handle the situation right from the gate. This issue is drawn way too far out of proportion now and those of us who know the deal are truly sick of it. I know two people who regularly blog on this site who are in the industry. One was out of the country at the time. The other one was present and I’m sure both of them have heard all about this and yet neither have said a word. Mariah was not contacted or paid to do that NYE show. She should have stopped the show and made DCP fix the issues then continue her performance. Some performers do live performances in dismal weather but most don’t because of the repercussions that can ensue such as catching a cold-flu immediately after and possibly compromising upcoming scheduled contracted show and tour dates. This is just one of many examples. Mariah knows the business and she put her own ass out there to be scrutinized. She knows the current condition of her voice and her limitations. She chose to the SEE ME, LOOK AT ME, ALL EYES ON ME route instead of focusing on her performance.
